a date with mom. mum.
dad was invited to a UniSIM alumni movie event for two at vivomax, but since he's in Mumbai, I went with my mum. there was quite a spread too (aha!) what with the mix of east and west... including mini-soon kueh and walnut brownies. been a long time since i spent time out with my mum, other than dinners at the meepok stall. not that i've just read For One More Day and want some kind of proactive justification. its because my dad had the tickets, and the book's (thanks dar/eugene) made me realize that it's really stupid to think of an outing with my mum as something only a mama's boy does. and i most definitely do not have the oedipus complex.
Stardust was not bad, i quite like the fantasy part (as i usually do) but what i didnt like was the occasional quips and remarks that sort of jerk you back to earth and affirms that this is a film, remember! it can't be real. so in the end it turns out to be something like a comedy (yeah there were enough funny parts) with a poke of fantasy. my completely subjective rating: 3/5.
then watched UNREST with t4 the next day. quite a weird consensus considering it was initially a choice between a family show or a fantasy show. ended up watching a horror flick. i still can't really forget the cadaver's face. argh! how come they don't have Delete Temporary Files for the brain.
the day after is Deepavali (Happy Advanced Deepavali(?) to all!) and a long weekend... then after that i'll probably be looking forward to December leave period :)
