no before u start calling me an exploit, let me just say first that i didn't try to push my luck n succeed. it just happened, n here i am sitting at home just 2 damn nights after i booked in last sunday.

first lets have a look at our RO for monday.
0515 wake up 0530 fall in 0545 breakfast 0620 area cleaning 0715 first parade 0730- swimmers go swim, the passers go pass their time in one way or the other (i.e. mope around ur bunk for 3+ hours). 1115- fall in for lunch (btw if u finish lunch early u go back to ur bunk.) 1330- fall in for platoon phototaking, take finish, go back do area cleaning. but what were we doing at 0630? 1530- weights training for abt half an hr 1715- fall in for dinner (same thing abt finishing early) 1900- RO for next day 2200- lights out

counted? thats abt 10plus hours of free time spent in my bunk, on the day just after i book in. no wonder we're destined for clerk.

i had a damn bad sore throat when i booked out last fri. the fever went away n the cough came when i booked in. the sore throat stayed put... then mon night i dunno if it was my coughing, or my bunkmates' that kept me awake but either way. no nice, comfy, dreamy sleep.

some of my bunkmates were still coughing like mad this morning, so we reported sick. an exceptionally large number of ppl reported sick too this morning, almost all with cough/ sore throat. so ONLY NOW did the medical centre realize there's a viral outbreak, n made us leave the camp for at least 3 days. for me quite heng i got 4 days so i only book back in after cny... so here i am lor.

those reported sick yesterday r still in there, unable to come out n yet further propagating the virus. i heard the company's 2ic in deep shit now... need to write report n all that.

come to think of it. do they really think tt this kind of army (no matter what pes) actually exudes deterrence... that this kind of overfocus on do-only-as-and-when-you-are-told regimentation will actually be our basis for survival in military conflict... of course this is only my view la but i think that They (hard to elaborate who) think tt the next war is going to be like those kind the king/ govt says, "Tomorrow We Wage War!" then those ancient desert wars or Black Hawk Down-inspired battles commence, with everyone going tactical n physical on the battleground.

come on la. this viral outbreak should be somewhat THE drill, rather than chorusing "Loyalty to Country! Leadership! Discipline! blahblahblahCare For SOLDIERS!!!" or "your left, your left, your left right! (Taurus!)" or "1check1check1check1check1check1!". our togetherness may be impressive but still i think our training should be in the head, not in our limbs. the next war's probably gonna be biochemical if not highly technological. look, one minor virus poorly controlled, already 'crippling' abt 10-20% of a company- blatantly n ironically- while we're learning to manage rifles n how to survive outfield.

our economy's already gone knowledge-based. why hasn't our military? or is there another purpose for our ARMY, which takes in able-bodied(able-minded) men at 18 years of age(just before getting back a level results) ?
a levels coming out soon... maybe i should consider GOING OVERSEAS? No but THIS IS MY HOMELAND! i love it n i will stay here!

  • hey bryan i always forget ur blog and i guess this my 1st time writing here! anyway nice to know ur having fun and staying true to the lameness. and about ur pes C.. we (me and rey and others) warned u so many times.. hahaha. anyway i wanted to tell u i totally agree in every word in what u said in this entry. nowadays many countries have removed this mandatory need for guys to join the army due to many political and economical reasons including the one u stated abt the world war moving to a high-tech war. the only countries left r like mine and urs and the north side of mine and israel. if u see me online lets chat. cya then take care!
